2021

Like many we reached the end of 2020 with a sigh of relief, what a year it had been. We rested and recuperated over the festive season and geared ourselves up for the year ahead only for another lockdown to be announced starting 5th January. So we ask ourselves what will this year bring?

Firstly we hope it brings vaccinations and protection from this awful virus causing direct and indirect suffering worldwide. No doubt everyone now has found the vaccination calculator and worked out when they think their next sigh of relief may come. We hope as a result of this that 2021 will bring more face to face meetings and celebrations of client relationships. Zoom has been fantastic, but we do miss seeing people.

There are positive indicators for the housing market in the year ahead but some trepidation also about what could happen with the impact of Covid, Brexit and the end of the SDLT holiday. Rightmove predict a 4% house price growth in 2021, whist Halifax predict a 5% fall.

We’re excited about the advances Cast has made with virtual marketing offerings over the last few months. Combined with our expertise and insight into the sector supported by our consultants, we can offer something that others can’t with enhanced walkthroughs enabling customers to measure up whilst they’re walked (and talked) through a development. This can be achieved using CGIs or filming completed developments. This is a real quick win for our clients as it allows them to sell virtually where necessary facilitating lockdown restrictions or distanced sales.

2020 taught us to expect the unexpected so we’ll not rest on our laurels. For now we’re grateful for our health, great clients and continuous improvement.
